Guest Tips

Ask for a room on the higher floors with a view facing the Convention Centre. The dome all lit up at night is quite spectacular and more than makes up for any lack of garden scenery. Try also to avoid lower floor back rooms as they can be darker and are overlooking parking/delivery areas.

Be prepared for the deposit policy. Have your card or some USD/RWF ready since it is common among hotels to ask either for a cash deposit or credit card pre-authorization upon check-in for incidentals.

If your preference is not the Chinese-heavy breakfast, you can walk or take a quick moto ride (1.5 km) to Kigali Heights where Java House or Camellia both excellent spots for Rwandan coffee and Western breakfast, are located. Also down at Dmall Supermarket make sure to stock up your mini-fridge with water fruit and yogurt all at local prices instead of paying hotel minibar rates.

If you are a light sleeper, then try to get a room far from the casino entrance or elevator banks because all that foot traffic in the evening can sometimes be audible through hallways. Bring a universal travel adapter, although the hotel normally has multi-sockets, having your own is always safer in Rwanda.
